URLs in Descriptions need to be seen as links

Too often a task may have an associated URL for a document, video, or website. Having a standalone URL insertion tool is nice but falls short.

If someone enters a task and a description which includes a URL, then this URL should be linkable/clickable.

For example: Say I have a task and several subtasks. Each subtask has video instructions on how to complete the step or documents associated which are not relevant to other subtasks. By placing the URL in the description, problem solved if the text becomes a link.

Not sure how you code this but this is a fairly common thing in entry fields today.

How difficult would it be to add?

It’s a good idea. Thanks for the tip.

Was searching for just this feature and found this post. Has not been implemented in the ensuing 18 months.

Even better, how about enabling a feature I see in many other cloud-based systems whereby you can enter the string…“Text”:url

This produces the inline word “Text”, underlined as a link to the url specified after the colon.

This should be available anywhere you can enter text. Tasks, simple notes, descriptions, etc.

The beauty of Solve is that it is web-based and every record has a URL. With this feature added, it will be possible to link back to any Company, Contact or Blog as well as external docs in Dropbox, Box.net, Google Docs, websites, etc.

Please consider this sooner than later.  This one simple feature would make Solve a much more powerful product!!

Hey Paul. Thanks for the suggestion. This is still on our long, long list. It (and other items) have simply been taking a back seat to some big tasks that we’ve gotten done this past year.
