Differentiating Contacts and Companies

In contacts view, if I want to filter on a type of contact, I select “Show” and then Category Tag.  Unfortunately, for the newcomer, it is not clear that the top half of the available list belongs to “Contacts” and the bottom half belongs to “companies”.  Would it be possible to have these two groups coloured or shaded slightly differently so that the user is immediately drawn to the fact that there are contacts and companies?

Yes Carl, I see your point. Distinguishing between the two may not be obvious especially for a first time user. Thank you for the suggestion.

I’m trying to keep away from the forums so that I can actually get some work done but I keep on finding my way back. grin.
I have had a bit of an issue with this as well. Project blogs and Contacts are differentiated. Why not have Contacts and Companies on different pages as well. I currently keep three tabs open on the top of my page (Blogs, Contacts and Activities Dashboard). I can quickly bounce between them by clicking the tabs. the issue is that quite often I will have done a search for Company based on X criteria. A little later I will do a contact search, I’ll change the criteria and get no response and then realize that I am “showing” company. I then have to change my “show” to contact. This would be so much simpler if I had a Company tab and a Contacts tab. That way (I think) it would be much easier for newbies (and others…me anyway). Because they really are not related, I don’t think they should be on the same page.
Thoughts?

Stormer, I’m also trying to do some work, but moving forward with this is so exciting.  I very much support your idea of showing contacts and companies as two totally separate tabs - much better than my idea of the different colours.  I would also raise a comment I made elswhere that the active tab needs to be a different colour - it blends in too well at the moment.

The colour comment is well taken. I am in the process now of transitioning my team from our previous CRM to 360. Luckily no one is kicking and screaming. One of the comments is the lack of colour. Colour for the sake of colour can be distracting but as a navigation tool…good use of pigments.

Thanks guys! Suggestions appreciated and well taken. As for now, you can edit your background at Workspace > My Account > Desktop Background

+1 for a separate tab for contacts and companies.  I would like it like that better, with it’s own filtering preserved.
