Most of my custom fields are being created as I import contacts from spreadsheets. Is there a way to edit the field type after it’s already created? I’d like to change some of them into single or multiple select lists etc.

Yes, Solve is designed for this in fact. Go to the top left corner > workspace > customize form fields and then just mess around in the new window that pops up. It’s intuitive and easy to use and impressively robust. Best, Ronald Lee |

I’ve tried and it doesn’t seem to be working. I can add new fields and select the options but when i click on the fields already there it will allow me to move it, edit the name or make it visible in the horizontal view but there’s no editing the field type.

Try to double click on the field name to rename the items in the field. If you are actually wanting to CHANGE the type of field, yes that can be done as well. If you can’t just create a totally new field and move the info over (i.e. in the case that you already have data in those field), which still would take some massaging, you can easily do this with some clever thinking by exporting your contact list, adding the new custom fields in Solve, messing with the columns in your exported excel file and reimporting. I’ve done that a few times. Seeing how you are new to Solve you may want to get someone to help you. |

Ok, so I’m certainly even NEWER to Solve360 than the original poster but I have a similar question. And, I am unable to see ‘edit custom fields’ under Workspace so I seem to have no way to…um…edit the custom fields. Just started with S360 today and tried importing a reasonably complex database. The field mapping was very odd - very few options. Some of the actual field data ended up being the field name (i.e. the field name is the actual email address of the contact.) Obviously, need to do something about that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. David |
