Experience with performance when using Solve360 with more people

Hi,

we’re experiencing some performance issues and we’re not sure where these come from.

We have a pretty decent internet connection and are using Solve360 with more people from the same office (ranging between 3 and 10).

Does anybody have anything to say about situations like these? Not saying Solve360 is slow, but just looking for similar sitautions and input.

thanks,
Alef

Are these fast computers?  Using Chrome or Firefox without a lot of extensions/toolbars/etc?  A lot of S360 is javascript, which runs on the local machine.  So if your local machine is dated or slow, that’ll make a huge difference.  I’ve also seen performance issues when playing with font sizes in Chrome or Firefox.

Yes Alef, sloughwi is correct. We recommend FireFox or Chrome.

Solve transfers very little data so I don’t think the 3-10 users will be noticeable on your network.

sloughwi is correct - Add-ons are the first thing to look at (they can really interfere with normal operation of the browser).  Starting the browser in safe-mode will help determine if this is the case.

Another area to look is your anti-virus software.  Most have an option to do real-time scanning of web content.  Simple add *.solve360.com to the list of safe sites or disabled this feature.

Over the years we’ve also discovered that if you are using a router with a feature called “stateful packet inspection” often called “SPI” or simply “Firewall” enabled we’d suggest disabling it.  The filtering slows down the network noticeable and does almost nothing to enhance security.

Then there’s the simple open a command prompt and run: ping secure.solve360.com -t (enter) to measure the network response time from our service to your location.  A typical range should be 150-300 msec with no time-outs.
