Permissions with contact fields

This questions might be answered here somewhere; if so, apologies for the duplication. Using “security settings for workgroups” and/or “user accounts” what I would like to do is have restrictions in place that will allow certain users to only see certain fields in the contact(s) screen. Example: I have a B2C model, personal data is stored in the client view, can I restrict other users from seeing certain fields such as drivers license numbers and/or other personal identification numbers?

Hi chris. Good question. In Solve360 security and permissions are set at the record level and not the field level. That is to say that you can hide/share a Contact, but not part of a contact. To do what you are suggesting, you would need to create 2 contacts for the same person. Put general information in one and secret information in the other. Then link the two. I would not recommend this generally, but it would be an ugly workaround.

it depends on the use case.
how often are you accessing this data (the secret stuff)?

every day, once a year?

if it’s not very often, pop it into a secure .doc or google doc with permissions set there so you have it for reference.
