Hi davieboy. To link or not to link, that is the question that we have been debating internally for a while now. It’s one of those features that you can’t remove once they are there, so we are hesitant and thoughtful about adding them.

I dont understand the hesitance unless of course there is a weakness in how security policy is applied. I have yet to determine if you can set access to specifc contacts within a company or is it that once a company is shared all links to that company become shared? EG contacts and or project blogs linked to a company do not have seperate security policies that can be linked to workgroups?

Then let me open the curtain further… We have a feature on the road-map that is related to this area and we want that burned in before we consider linking companies to companies.

Seems like my assumptions where in the right direction. I look forward to seeing the approach to managing this.

I agree with Davieboy completely.  It would be grand if you could build your future feature to include this functionality.

Here’s my current problem.  We have many companies that contract to larger companies.  The smaller company’s existence is largely connected to the larger ones.  The names of the smaller companies are generally not related to the larger company in any way so looking at them doesn’t always make the connection. 

I don’t know what you have up your sleeve but I would be interested to see how it could be more simple than just allowing a relationship between two companies.  Do you have a timeframe for this functionality release?
