Names for Form, List, Show, and Hide

“Horizontal” and “Vertical” views seem like odd ways to say “Form” and “List.“ And those terms are inconsistent with the way you name those views when you’re in the “Customize Form Fields” screen.

There, the red button says “Show in Form Only,“ and the green button says “Display in List View.“

Friendly suggestion—change “Horizontal” button on the Contacts menu bar to “Form View,“ and change the “Vertical” button to “List View”

And if you do that, I realize that “Show Form” and “Hide Form” now have overlapping meanings and might become confusing.

I’ve got a suggestion there too—change the “Show Form” button to “Enter Data,“ and change the “Hide Form” button to “Display Data”

This was another dumb question on my part. Now that I’ve worked with it a bit more, I do see the point of “Horizontal” and “Vertical” views, and I see that both views display “Form” and “List,“ which indeed line up with the “Customize Form Fields” descriptions.

So you can ignore the above, or use it as an example of the clueless questions that clueless users will sometimes cluelessly ask…!

I kind of like the labels you suggested “Enter Data” and “Display Data” as they seems more friendly than “form”.  (thinking)

Is “Info” more cuddly than “Data”?

Enter Info…Display Info…I dunno. Or maybe just Enter and Display, in keeping with your minimalist ethic.

Perhaps a Teddy Bear icon with his arms open then closed?  Err maybe that’s to political; need to be careful with these things.
