Link tasks to Company and Contact

I’m looking at moving over to S360 and having trouble understanding the task implementation.  Am used to having ability to link tasks to both people and companies.

If a task list is essentially a mini project why can’t I link it or the individual tasks to the person and entity?  I’d like to know a history of interaction and status whether I pull up a company (which may have various completed and open tasks linked to multiple employees) or pull up an individual (where I’d only see tasks related to that person).

It appears that S360 only allows link to one or the other.  How do you work around this?

As example, I created a task list under a person with subtasks like, 1) call to schedule work (for which I’d create a calendar item and mark complete) 2) write and deliver report, 3) invoice, 4) create task list for repeat business.  This all displays under the person (where I created it) but is not connected at the company level.

Also, is there any way for tasks to have dependency?  In the above example, you need to follow the task flow… but on the S360 Activities Dashboard they all show under the “due anytime” category.

tasks can get assigned to the internal employees on your team, when you create each task or create the template that contains the task. This can then be reported on in Show Activities next actions assigned to.

And, if you create this task list under the Company contact record, vs the person contact record it will display that in the Next Actions Assigned To, effectively linking Task with Company. If you want to associate a name of someone outside your company with the task, like the client contact name, create a custom field in your task list and enter it there.

So if you employee is Bob, and the client contact is Joe at Acme inc:
Create the task under Acme Inc, assign it to Bob, and put Joe in the custom form field, or in the task description or task list description

As for the last question, you can assign specific dates and even times to tasks and send an email reminder, just click ‘add schedule’

Lastly, if you do still want to place the task list under the individual contact record, you can pull all those tasks together in the company contact record by using the new ‘Show related activities’ feature launched last week
