scheduled email Q

Goal:  Have a “thank you for scheduling” email sent out immediately upon scheduling an appointment with a potential customer.

My current solution: A scheduled email within a template that I add to each new contact created.  I set the scheduled email to Zero days in the template expecting it to hold that parameter when the template is added to a contact, thusly firing off the email ASAP.

My problem: When I add the template my scheduled email says, “could not be sent (IGNORED)“

My Question:  Why is this?  How do I have the email send immediately without having to go into the email and hit the reschedule button?

..I checked the MANY email related threads and did not find an answered.  Apologies if this has indeed been covered.

You have to save the template for the scheduled email to be sent in the future.

If your template currently shows it as “scheduled for yesterday,“ - anytime you insert that template into another contact, it will will have an email “scheduled for yesterday.“

If you save the template to send the email out immediately (in “0 days”) it will send those emails out as soon as possible.

Also ensure there is a valid FROM and contact email address.  Those are the primary reasons for ignored.  If you schedule the email for to far back in time it will be seen as unintentional and be ignored.
