I have been using S360 integrated with my normal Gmail account.
If I want to move to Google Apps with S360, is there a guide to make the transition? I don’t want to lose any of the information, history, etc. that I have in S360 currently.
Thanks

Thanks for your question. I don’t foresee any issues hooking up Google Apps to your account then changing the Webmail, Contact sync features etc. to target your new Apps account. Did you have any specific concerns? |

Just that I lose email links, or notes, etc. |

No data in your Solve account will change when you install Solve in Google Apps, absolutely none. |

Great. Thanks |

Is there an easy way to move all “Gmail stuff” to Google Apps? I’ve been using gmail for a quite long time now (I have my private stuff there as well). I would like to have it all within a Google Apps account. |

Don’t know if this will help you out. But if you have access to Outlook, you can set up both accounts in Outlook and drag, drop or copy7move mails/folders between both accounts. I have also seen a site called Yippiemove, which transfers mail for you from one account to another account - It’s $15 for an account though - and I haven’t tried it myself so I don’t know much about it, other than it offers this service. How do I do this? |

You’re not the first to need to do this. There are many ways to accomplish the migration, but the best is called IMAP. Check out google’s page for migrating your emails into Google Apps. I’ve done this several times, and I like that it preserves message header information as well as my labels. Here’s my method: Get an old fashion email client: Enable IMAP connections in BOTH your source and destination google accounts: Now go into your email client of choice and add the source and destination email accounts (both the Gmail and Google Apps accounts). Remember, they both must be set for IMAP connections not the more common POP3 connection. Here’s Google’s notes on how to setup the IMAP connections for the email client you chose: You’ll know you’re ready when you can see both email accounts and use your cursor to drag and drop Folder(gmail labels) from account A to account B. Thats the fun part! |
