Save to dropbox option in webmail

As I understand it the only way to get existing emails linked to contacts so they they can be viewed when browsing the contact is to:

a) BCC (when replying) or Forward (when received) the email to the dropbox address or

b) Save the email to the dropbox if doing the above via the webmail interface.

What I don’t understand is if the email is already viewable in the webmail interface couldn’t there just be a “Save to Dropbox” option without the need to “send” it so to speak?

I appreciate that the webmail interface is just a window on the emails and they are not physically stored within Solve360 until that are “sent” to the dropbox, but if there was a “Save to Dropbox” option in the webmail interface that could do the “sending” to the dropbox without users concerning themselves with sending it if you understand me.

Or have I misunderstood something?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

Thanks for everyone’s response on my other threads. I am just a day into testing Solve360 and trying to learn fast if it will meet our requirement, but it is great to find such a supportive and also polite forum :)

Just bumping this thread as I was surprised it hasn’t brought a response. Have I misunderstood what Solve360 can already do in this area?

This may not apply directly to your query but ... I really prefer to process my mail in the Gmail web interface so what I did was create a ‘context’ label ( C/360 ) for any mail I want to include in the Solve dropbox . I can then drag and drop in Solve Webmail to either of the two dropbox folders I have in Webmail. The only issue with doing this is that the label in Gmail is dropped from the mail it was attached to as soon as it is moved to the dropbox so that occasionally I duplicate the entry. I have also gone back through my Gmail archive and tagged reference material so that it gets picked up in the appropriate account history in Solve

There is a tutorial in the help section that explains how to save outgoing emails directly to the dropbox (as well as how to move other mail there):
http://www.norada.com/answers > Attaching emails as activities > Webmail removes the need to Bcc and Forward (page 5 of 6)
