Search submenu misses some custom fields

Only the first 9 custom fields are showing up under the submenu
Search / Any field / Custom fields / <list of 9 custom fields>

Is there an upper limit that needs to be increased?

Currently I’m seeing only a bunch of fields that an Outlook Import automatically created, and not the custom fields I manually created, which seem to have been pushed off the submenu.

I think the form designer property “Display in list view / Show in form only” is determining if the fields are displayed in that drop-down.  I set a couple of your custom fields to “Display in list view” and they showed up.  Can you confirm the same?

Right you are! I can now search by “Suffix,“ and you can only imagine how excited that makes me feel! ;->

Anyway—unlinking those two would be good for us, because we’ll use the List View to generate call lists for the hundreds of calls we make each week. Things that show up on the List, like Extension, are NOT important to search on. Things that don’t need to show up on the List, like various drop-down menus we’ve created to sort our lists in the first place, ARE important to search on.

I realize that Search on Any Field will probably accomodate us, and I don’t know off-hand how you’d keep the list of Custom Fields from getting out of hand if they all show up. I suppose another radio button that says “Search on” like the one that says “Display in List” would work, but I bet that violates your simplicity rule!

I’ve logged a task to include all custom fields in the list regardless of display option.  Thanks for the tip.

The change is complete.  You should see all custom fields in the command bar dropdown regardless of layout option now.
