Feature request: Ability to save and edit individual activities as Activity Templates

I’m loving the Activity Templates, but find myself constantly adding and refining to them while in the flow of day to day business. I’d love to be able to, say, drop in a tasklist and add some stuff, and to save ONLY that activity as an activity template. As inevitably happens, I’ll insert it and add or change stuff to it, so I’d also like to be able to save those changes.

Right now, it’s necessary to add the activity template to a blank contact record, edit it, save over the existing template, and delete.
Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Anyone have any insights?

I have each template saved in it’s own project blog, so it’s always there, always ready for tweaking and modifying, then I just resave it if I’ve done some changes to it. No deleting required

The only issue I’ve come across is that if you have tasks assigned to your team members in the template, the fact that they are now in a project blog means that the tasks will show up in the Activities -> Next Actions Assigned To. To get them not to show up, I actually Archive each of these blogs with the templates.

Works pretty well.

Thanks for the idea Dave. Wish there was an easier way to edit and save a template :/

when a blog is archived you can’t edit it, so when you need to, you’ll have to unarchive it.

Perhaps templates should be there own special ‘thing’ like contacts, companies and blogs. Just a thought for EngSpecOps

Templates should have their own special “thing”... +1 for this idea!
