A new feature that would be extremely helpful would be to have the ability to create a task without having to create a task list first. Additionally, to be able to create task dependencies and be able to adjust those in the interactive gantt chart.
Now with that said, here is my solution. When you create a task, you will have a task list section in your project blog, and it will apply to the entire project blog. Then to create subtasks, you add a section header where you will be able to add additional tasks grouped under the section header. Then if you go the gantt chart you will be able to see the all the tasks and be able to drag/drop, connect task dependencies, and be able to see the overall progress of the project.
I know that my viewers/clients really like to see how things are moving along and the gantt chart really helps give a good overall progress/picture of the project. Does this make sense? Anybody else have any good ideas? Is this possible?

I like the idea of having a proper project management system. Not sure exactly how Solve is able to say Project Management meets CRM. Every Project Management system I’ve ever used has at least dependencies and predecessors. The good ones have gantt.
I currently use OmniPlan and Merlin for my Project Management. However I’m still waiting for a good CRM/Project Management system that’s online.
I’ve put a request for these basic PM and task lists months ago. I’m not holding my breath.

I agree completely. We love Solve, but a more robust PM function is at the very top of our most missed features. Solve is great at managing tasks, but at the moment it still, well, sucks at managing projects.
We have taken to Smartsheet as a PM tool in a big way. It is fast, allows linking to and creating Google Docs from the tool, has a very simple way to create sub-tasks, has decent dependency functionality and Gantt view, and is an uncluttered and elegant solution.
We do, however, get indecently excited about the prospect of a similar (and probably better) task management system built right into Solve.
So, Solve360 development team, hear our plea… please, please, pretty please give a more robust PM system. Make it a plugin if you want to - not everyone needs it.
PS - we have also started looking at Worketc. We won’t move over to Worketc, but their new PM module looks like it could be an interesting way to work together.

I have also trialed Smartsheet and do agree it’s a very nice tool. It just doesn’t have a CRM component to it. As a PM tool it’s great though. I’ve also tried Work Etc., but found a few bugs and a few features needed. Smartsheet is by far tops in the cloud PM solution.
+1 vote here for a basic PM feature in Solve.

Thank you all for your responses! Anyone else? I have tried a lot of project management softwares and a few CRM/PM Softwares and so far they all all lack in one aspect or another. I have narrowed it down to my favorites, and if solve 360 can integrate these features into their current software it would take over the world. Here are the top three softwares I liked:
1. Wrike
2. Smartsheet
3. Solve 360
What I liked about wrike was the ability to email yourself to create a task and also the ability to mark your tasks complete from your email. Pretty cool, and it saves a ton of time and makes you work very efficiently, but it lacks a CRM.
What I liked about smartsheet was the drag and drop with tasks, the interactive gantt chart, and a few of the other collaboration tools. But it lacks a good CRM.
What I liked about Solve 360 was pretty much everything, except it has a weak project management. Just start out basic and then move forward from there.
Now with that said, if Solve 360 can integrate these changes into its software, it will become the absolute best small business software on the market.

+1 on project management improvements in Solve

I never knew about Wrike, but it seems like an excellent piece of software. And I thenk the ability to easily create update forms that are embedded in e-mails, as well as accessing tasks and projects directly from gmail will really help us kick our productivity into high gear.
This is my +1 for cjimrun’s suggestions.
Of course, keeping things simple is core to Solve. But I am sure that the uber smart engineers at Solve can figure something out.

please add +1 or +2 from my side.
That would be a really great feature inside Solve360, and sure a plus to get more and more customers searching for the CRM that is missing in Smartsheet…
If there is too much development needed inside Solve360, maybe an integration as addon with for example: smartsheet / wrike… could be possible…

We are still unsure which way to go on this.
Solve360 addresses pretty much all of our needs and we’re here to stay. However Gantt charting is a missing hole at present.
We’ve tried using Gantter, have had a look at Smartsheet and a few others. However they are either 1. a bit flaky, or 2. require extra subscription.
For me the ideal would be to introduce task dependencies - in the same way that most Gantt programs have Start-Finish, Start-Start, Start-Lag-Finish etc.
The current timeline view is a great starting point for this, and the possibility of showing all tasks (at high-level) on the same sheet is very attractive.
What would complete it nicely woud be the ability to enter a task directly into the timeline view, in the same way that most Gantt programs work.

Whilst there are multiple ways to facilitate the same thing as a gantt chart, it really is probably one of the most useful tools with scheduling projects.
I agree with Carl; having an integrated chart/critical path analysis where you could create tasks and drop contacts into those tasks could be really fantastic.

I think we are going to trial Smartsheet for a while to supplement our Solve360 usage. If anyone out there knows how to work the integration of it so we can link in with Solve360 tasks then I am all ears.

Hey just took a quick look, smartsheet itself doesn’t seem to have a direct api to integrate with solve360 however it does have a google app/interface. It would be a long way round, but perhaps smartsheet could be “integrated” with solve360 via google apps/api.
