Notifications / Opportunity Tracking

Hi guys, I’m new to Solve360 and trying to figure out how to best set it up for my small team.  In tracking opportunities, is it best to utilize project blogs or companies? I started with logging activities under the company, but I don’t seem to have a way to notify a team member from that area when I add comments or documents.

For example, we’re putting together a proposal for a client.  My team member is responsible for his part, and then I add my own notes and draft a proposal.  How would I notify him from the company area that I uploaded the document and it’s ready to go?

Also, in project blogs the notifications seem a little limiting… it’s seems to be either all comments/ all activity/ or a text box to use when needed. Nearly all other PM tools I’ve used before allow you to specify notifications per activity. For example, I had 3 users/subscribers/clients on a project, I would be able to select or deselect to send a notification for each comment, post, etc. And the body of that item (post, comment, etc) would be emailed or not depending on the settings for that item.

Am I missing anything? Thanks much!

Greetings Angela, Thanks for using the Solve360 community forums!
Projects are what you would typically if you wanted updates. Solve360 doesn’t have updates for individual activities… the act of setting up the notification would be comparable to simply sending an email. You could prevent emails from being sent from all the other activities in the project/company if you wanted. There is a “Do not display on the published view or send notifications” checkbox inside every activity in a project.

There is a feature that may fit your needs is more elegant. The “Activity Changes for” report. You see any changes for any activity TYPE(S) in the system. You could simply set it to see revenue opportunity changes alone. Then keep an eye on them all at once.

This notification is ‘automatic’ even for Contacts. If I create a contact and one of our team update the contact notes, I don’t necessarily need to know that via email. There does not seem to be a similar feature to ‘not notify’ in contact records.

Is there another way to stop the notifications from automatically being sent for contact record updates?
