Importing projects

Hi there!

Solve360 really looks amazing. I can’t wait to import data of contacts and companies (by .CVS) and finetune the system in our way.

We, as a student consultancy company, allso want to import data of former projects. The data concerns things as projectcodes, projectprices, projectcosts, descriptions about projects etc.

I read on your website that we can send our projectdata (in .XML format) to your support team and they will program it in our account. Is that right?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hey Louis, welcome to our community forums. Generally there is no standard format for transferring project data, so doing it though the API is indeed how it is best done. The exception is Basecamp files for which we have an import feature. Non-Basecamp project files or any .XML files would need a custom import. We do not do custom imports, however you can hire one of our Solution partners to do so using our API if you wish:

Hello !
So it is impossible to do it by myself, even if I can generate my own xml of projects from excel ?
Or is it possible to have an example of basecamp xml export please ?
(I am trying Solve360, so far it fits perfectly with our needs, but the projects import is an essential feature for my company)

Thanks a lot !

Hi Francois,

only Basecamp import is supported within Solve360 UI. If you want to use other formats, you can use the API by yourself (needs programming experience) or let the work be done by a Solve360 partner (like me ;-) ).

If you need only advise or tips, you can also contact me, perhaps I can help you further.

kind regards,

Hi !
How much money ?!

Did you already do that operation ?
Is it successfull ?
Do you provide in the back-office another type of import file (other than basecamp), or do you put xls datas into a compatible basecamp xml that i have next to import ?

I am in a test phase, but i wanna know asap if it is possible, because I have to convince my boss !

So seriously, if you can’t help me any further because it’s your job and it is not like giving me a piece of code by mail to implement, tell me how much :-)
(I have like 1000 projects to import)

Thanks !

Hi Francois,

please give me an example of your file (just some rows) and I will tell you more.
I have my scripts running on my server and use the API of Solve360 to do the import. So there is nothing for you to be done to do the import.

you can contact me directly via .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
