Search for Contacts within a Group of Companies

I’m still evaluating the product and I have one rather large hurdle I need to get over some way or another. I am willing to adapt to the system if I can make this work.

Here is what I need to be able to do:

1) Search for a group of Companies

2) Find all of the contacts within these companies that match a specific criteria ( ie. all of the accountants, owners, and/or sales staff ).

3) Publish this list to Constant Contact or MailChimp in order to send an email campaign. Have the contacts updated with the tracking stats of the campaign ( I understand the stats are only possible with Constant Contact at this time ).

How would I best accomplish this task in Solve360 WITHOUT exporting something to CSV or XLS?

So far I have figured out how to find the list of Companies I am looking for. ( ie. all companies with a custom field value of X or a tag value).

What I cannot figure out is how do I then get the contacts related to these companies? I do not want to export them with “related links”  and then import the list into Constant Contact or MailChimp as I then lose the ability to view stats from within the contacts record.
As an aside: I have found that exported records done this way will not pull out the tags connected to the contacts and if I use a checkbox custom form field the exported record has a comma delimited list in the row for the contact. If there are three or more values you can’t sort the records to get specific combinations of these values.

Perhaps there is a way to customize the search text box (like Google’s) with the use of things like (”“) for phrase searching, (+) for exact match, (OR), (*) wildcards, and (-) exclude?

This would allow me to find the “NFL Teams” AND “Cheerleaders” AND “Accountants” contacts so I could send a marketing blast to each NFL team’s cheerleaders and Accounting staff info on new T-Shirts ( a made up example btw ). As opposed to the NHL teams and their related cheerleader/accountant teams.

Any help on this would be appreciated as this will allow me to move forward with Solve360 company wide.

You can tag contacts as accountants, owners etc. and you can select all the different types at the first level of the filter. Then at the second level of the filter, you can specify the ‘Company’ field and then type in the name of the company. You can do this only one company at a time however.

Thanks for the reply. That’s a real bummer though. What is the point of having the Companies being a separate entity if you cannot search for contacts across multiple Companies?

I am afraid I will not be able to use your service until something like this is made available. This is devastating to me as you guys have the level of Google Apps integration I want. Your competition is light years behind in this regard. On the other hand their searching capabilities are light years ahead.

A tough choice ahead indeed…

Your service response time is great too.

There have been a few observations about the way companies are handled in Solve…. **they do Contacts quite well**...but the companies listings are treated as afterthoughts.
