It would really be great if we could have more than 1 admin user in Solve360. There are multiple people who need access to the additional functionality provided to admins.
Multiple Admins?

Our point of view is that you really do only want one admin (ten years experience working with small teams absolutely convinces us of this). Changes to accounts and workgroup processes and standards should be discussed and coordinated through one person. The administrator can be changed from user to user quite easily (cover for vacation etc). There’s also not much a user needs from the admin role on a day-to-day basis. However, if you have a unique case a simple way to work around this is to setup one administrator account for the ‘admins’ to share. |
Interesting. I just left a comment at this article yesterday touting the fact that Solve360 works the way we do and not the way someone else expects us to. Was I wrong? For me, 10 years of working with small teams, managing businesses, and building enterprise web applications has shown me that “admin” is a set of permissions applied to a user, not necessarily an individual user. How is one co-founder of a company not afforded the same permissions as the other co-founder? |

As mentioned, if you have a case where 2 people want access to Admin permissions, a simple way to work around this is to setup one administrator account for the co-founders to share. They could have separate personal accounts for their non-admin duties. |

Meh, that’s making it simple for you guys, not for the users. I can’t expect people to switch accounts every time they want to add a new tag or create a new activity template….this is why I was asking about multiple admins in the first place. Plus that extra account would count against the number of users for our payment plan. |

I agree with you Rich, it would be very useful to have the ability to assign admin permissions for more than 1 user without them then having to switch accounts. While it is easy to switch the administrator from user to user (i.e to cover vacations as suggested) this is redundant when the administrator is unexpectedly away (something we have experienced). I fully understand the view that it keeps things simple by having all the administration changes coordinated through one person and not have numerous people making changes but surely we should be able to make that decision for ourselves? |
