I can see also wanting to create a template from a project so when I start a new ‘Upgrade’ project I can start with all the stuff from the last one which I’ve realized is common and put in the template.

I think both task list templates and project templates would be very helpful.  Because of the fluid nature of this app I think it would be perfect for letting you choose to template a project at any time during or at the end of a project.  For example if you set up a new unique project from the beginning and add tasks (and files/notes) along the way that further refine the flow and knowledge then you can template that and reuse the next time you have a similar project.  Kind of a built in continuos improvement.

You’ve essentially captured the essence of how our Activity Template feature works (flexible enough to contain discrete sets of data such as a single tasklist / set of documents, or an entire project plan).  I hope it lives up to the expectations; stay tuned :)

I’m really excited about this feature! This will enable us to streamline our project blog creation, and keep a consistent feel for all new projects.

Another vote for this one. We’re actually using the task list as a mini-production-workflow checklist for a printing biz.

Hugely important for both tasks and whole blogs (contacts and projects).

I’d also like to add my vote.  Our business involves a lot of similar projects which have a huge number of steps - so templates are extremely key to us.

We have standard procedures to work on projects and leads as well, including long checklists of tasks for servicing each new client, so it would be very helpful to be able just to apply a certain checklist template for each new lead or client as a saved list of tasks and actions.

Could you tell me when do you plan to release such feature?

@pavel It’s in our work queue now and will be likely introduced in the next update.  It should be soon but there is no firm date yet.

I see you were talking about developing this a couple of months ago is it ready yet?

This feature is pretty much make or break for our decision to use Solve360. Basecamp doesn’t have this either and that is why we are looking for a new project management program.

We are basically sick of having to spend a couple of hours putting in the same tasks every time a new project started.

The Template feature is developed but we’re currently working through a lengthy test cycle before releasing this new feature into our production systems.  The next update is quite “monumental” introducing many new features and refinements.

If anyone here doesn’t mind working on the leading edge contact our support team and they’ll provide you with access to this developmental version to check it out.  The code is stable but still undergoing minor revisions each day as we continue through our quality assurance and refinement process.
