The concept is to link contact with company pages, then save company information on the company record, leaving the data on the contact record specific to the contact.  When you need the company information click on the company link from the contact record.

To view the list of companies on the toolbar choose “Show All Companies…“

When you export contact data (e.g. Data, Export this list) the company information is included in the export file.

This would be very welcome. I would like to be able to easily copy the info to the specific contact and not have to type it in again, although I understand this is not ‘the concept’, I like to have my info in one place.

We face similar issues and the answer “display contacts or company” is too short. We sell product within in one company with many contacts (and releated consultant companies with additional contacts). To get an instant overview of actvities of various people and companies is by clicking every single contact. Which is rather cumbersome.

One way might be to be able to open the contacts page twice? So one would hold the company, the other the contacts!

And even better, get a view of all related activities for one company/one blog, being selectable by the category…
