Gmail filters and labels in Solve’s webmail

Currently I’m using Google Apps gmail as my primary business email.

I’ve created filters to automatically label incoming emails based on which emaill address they come to (info, project, sales etc.), plus an certain keywords (usually project names).

Solve360’s webmail client sees my labels as folders (which is awesome) - but i wish it would go one step more and allow me to auto tag my gmail labels with a matching tag under “contacts” - this way every contact that comes thru my email is getting tagged correctly without any additional clicks on my part.

This means - set up the labels in gmail, set these labels to correspond with a tag in Solve, let the auto-filtering begin.

Thoughts?

Can you explain / provide an example so we can follow this through?

The model with Solve will be to simply put the messages in the dropbox and the system will automatically link to the related contacts and project pages.  Perhaps when the dropbox is provided in the webmail as a simple folder labels, filtering etc will become less important?

The workflow you’re describing assumes that I’ve already added the contact into solve - i’m focusing directly on the moment you hit “add contact.“

Let’s say I get a bunch of interest to a story pitch about a project I’m working on (all hypothetical of course!) That’s 15 emails, 15 new contacts that I’m going to add into Solve.
When these emails come into my gmail, they’re coming into press@ as opposed to adrian@ - i have a filter that automatically labels these emails as “press” as soon as they come into the inbox.

What I’m looking for is a way to have that info included when i hit “add contact,“ so that the emails labelled “press” in gmail are tagged “press” in solve - this would take some customization, especially creating the relationship between label and tag, but it would be really really useful.

Please continue with mapping the outcome you’re looking for e.g. a contact record with the relevant email attached?  Or, the incoming message routed to the “press” folder, or?

i’ve thought this through (much better) and see how I can’t actually get this functionality because the gmail filter works with messages and not contacts.

The goal I was hoping for was to tag contacts in gmail, and that these tags would persist in Solve360, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

it’s not a so necessary now that I think about it .
