BaseCamp Import?

Hi there! I just found Solve360 today and have had a blast playing with it and learning the ropes. This seems like a great fit for our company. I did have a question though. My company (about 6 of us) have been using Basecamp for project management for about the last year and I am looking into replacing that, our highrise account, and our sales guy’s Dashboard account with Solve360.

I’ve been able to import all our contacts and that went pretty smoothly. What I’m concerned about is the basecamp information. All of our projects, to-do lists, and time tracking has been done through there and I would really like to not lose it. I’ve looked and I can export my entire basecamp account into HTML or XML.

Is there any way to get this into Solve360?

Thank you!
Greg

Hi Greg, That’s great to hear.  The import feature (which is getting a spiffy new CSV w/ mapping feature soon) only supports contacts.  However, almost any data can be imported using our API.  Here you’d need to be technically inclined or pay us to load the data in; but it is possible and not so complex.  How much data would you have to load in (projects, activities, etc)?

Thank you for getting back to me. I’m not savvy enough to be able to use the API to do this without outside assistance. Depending on the cost, we might very well be able to pay to have you port the data over.

There are about 40-45 projects from the past year.  How much data is a tricky question to answer. I can send an export (HTML or XML) for a better estimate but I’m not going to do that in a forum.

Very happy to hear that you’d be willing to help transfer this data over! What should my next steps be?

Email a copy of the Basecamp export file to our support team and a reference to this post.  They’ll take a look and let you know what we can do to get the project data in for you.
