No attachment on forwarded emails.

Is anyone else having this issue?

When we try to forward an email that has an attachment from a blog, the attached file is not showing up in the “New Email” window that opens when ‘forward’ is clicked. When the email is sent the attachment does not arrive at the other end.

Is this intended, system wide or just unique to our configuration?

Hi James, I checked into your account and it needs more parameters entered in order to send email messages.  Workspace > Webmail > Settings > Sending > Username needs to have your full Gmail user name (i.e. your Gmail email address).  You should also enter values for incoming as well so drafts can be saved etc.

ok, I’ll look at it.  I can send email already but the attachments get stripped off.

I turned off the incoming mail server through google because I could see all my google mail in the in box.  I’m trying to get away from google mail and use S360 to sort out the 3000 messages I have.  Also since google stacks ‘conversations’ within one email your system unbundles them into single emails.  So 3000 conversations turn into 5000 emails when viewed in S360.

If I put in my whole email address it now does not connect to the google server.  But it does work if I just put in the username.  But still no attachment.

When composing an email message the incoming account is used to save temporary information (the draft message and any attachments).  So the incoming server parameters are required.  Please give that a try.

ok both incoming and outgoing set to google.  I can see my google mail in the inbox.  I can send an email as well.  But when I try to forward an email from a blog it still sends it without an attachment.

Please logout, clear your browser cache (to guarantee your browser is running the current version), relogin and try and forward the message again.  Let us know if that does the trick.

Nice it works! Did you recently add the ‘Loading Attachments’ progress graphic? I Didn’t see that before. Now seeing how long it takes your system to re-attach the file to the email I’d say we were not waiting long enough before sending.  This is better.  (why is there a wait to re-attach?)

I still have one more challenge:  Now I see all my 5000 Gmail emails in S360.  Since one of the main uses of S360 will be to help me organise and eventuall stop relying on Gmail.  I want to start with a clean inbox here.  Gmail will be cleaned out by forwarding into different S360 drop boxes.

How can I still be able to send out email with attachments without having to see my Gmail inbox.  I tried switching the incoming settings to your servers but that caused a ‘no connection’ message. Is there another way?

We have our own domain can I use that for incoming and outgoing mail?

Yes, this was added in the last update.

...why is there a wait to re-attach?

The file is downloading from Google’s email service to ours.  If the file is large this could take ~5-30 seconds.

You can forward emails directly from the linked-emails area i.e. you don’t need to open the Webmail window.

Yes, as part of our “Business-class e-mail service” we can host your domain and provide you with incoming and outgoing email services.  Please contact our Support team for details on how to activate this service.
