For some reason this morning I can’t get Solve360 to post a comment I made to one of my projects. I can create the comment, but it won’t seem to post it. I tried posting the same comment to other projects and none would post it. Is there a problem?

Well now, here is an update on my last post. If I type a comment into the space provided, it works, but if I attempt to copy and paste, it doesn’t work.

We implemented an update yesterday that touched many parts of the system and introduced a few minor bugs. A small update was released about 30m ago to address some of them, another one will be done later today. I can post comments now. Can you reload by pressing <shift> then <f5> and give it another try?

I pressed Shift and then f5, but nothing happens.
THe problem seems to be that if I attempt to copy and paste some text into a proposed comment, it will not work, but if I type the message into comment it does work.
Not earth shaking - just interesting

Can you past into a note, or an address field?

First off, this is the second most fun I have ever had with software/technology. It is fast becoming a techie Easter egg hunt. Each day we find something new. Somedays, what we thought we had just disappears . . . . but for the most part we seem to be moving in a good direction.
Absolutely love the ability to bulk categorize contacts.
The search feature is the fastest and most flexible I have ever seen - no small comment there, since I am the database maven . . .
Would like to see the following - and if these features are already there, I apologize:
* Need to know who created the record - and date would also help.
* Need to be able to copy contact info to clipboard - for those times when you are trying to forward some contact info via email (for example)
* Would like to search for contacts that are related to a project - useful for pulling up a list . . .
Does anyone else think the name sounds like something to do with job placement? We have heard several people comment on that.
That’s about it for now - but, overall, this just rocks! Thanks for all you do.

Sounds like you’re really putting the system to the test which is great! Just to let you know when we get questions like this we do two things: 1) provide you with a quick response to offer what we know / explain how the app works now, 2) monitor / review them internally to identify areas for potential improvement - so onto #1
>> * Need to know who created the record - and date would also help.
Every action in the system is audited and we are starting to expose this information e.g. A contact’s activity records display the person and date info in the right two columns, Activities has a special report “Show recent activity for” (we’ll try and summarize this a bit as there is a LOT of information available). So we have the info now and we will be carefully deciding if / where to add this info to more areas in future updates.
>> * Need to be able to copy contact info to clipboard - for those times when you are trying to forward some contact info via email (for example)
Copy Contact “vCard” fields is already on the list of features coming (an internal request too). Basically this copies multiple fields into the clipboard in one step.
>> * Would like to search for contacts that are related to a project - useful for pulling up a list . . .
When you open a project, you will see all Contacts that you have related to it (with links to open them). Did you have somethings else in mind?
PS: Thanks for the kind words!

If I post a comment to a particular blog, is there a way to notify the other members of the team that it is there - other than sending them an email? I like the notion of a means of communication other than email, but if I have to use email to tell others to read my comments, it seems to defeat part of the purpose.
Thanks

You should see it under the “Recent Activity For” option under Activities i.e. what has team/Bruce been doing recently? It might get a bit noisy sending emails out for each change.

Good idea, but when I go there there is nothing. I click on “refresh” and still nothing happens. I will close out Solve360 and log in again and see if that works

I was able to get “recent activity” to appear by closing out Solve360 and then logging in again. Small problem there.
As a way for team members to become aware of new comments posted, going to the “recent activity” screen and trying to figure out from that who might have left a new comment, doesn’t seem to me to be a viable process. Way too cumbersome. But it really may be a small matter in any event. I can send an email to others telling them to go to the project blog and read my new comment.

The intent of the recent activity is to audit changes and catch up on workspace changes “at a glance” e.g. after returning from a leave etc. Things that should catch attention are normally triggered with an email (like a task assignment, meeting invitation etc). Perhaps comments fall into this because of their special status (not a regular update, but a reaction to something). Thanks for the tip.

When I open the “project blogs” thing, it opens all project blogs with separate tabs, so that when I check the “recent activity” thing, it is not telling me what blog I have most recently opened, it instead shows that there has been some kind of activity in EVERY blog. THat makes it difficult to tell anything about anything “at a glance”
|
|
|
|
|
We will be filtering the noise level in the recent activity (summarizing) so that it is easier to skim. When you open the tabs you are viewing “all of them”. The hard part was getting it there in the first place… developing views on it will be relatively easy and it’s on our list.

To test something, I did another comment (to replace the one that completely disappeared) and posted it. I then went to “recent activities” and found it listed there, so it is possible to do exactly what you said, but there is still a lot of “noise” and I think that eliminating some it would be good.
Thanks
Bruce
PS - - I am still a bit concerned about the mild malfunction of the “refresh” button and the disappearing comments. Not the end of the world however, given the many many superior features of Solve360.

Actually I’d claim the comment never “disappeared” because it was never actually “there” e.g. if you looked at the bottom left corner of the screen when you saved the comment you would have seen an error message. Why? Our Engineers are working on handling session timeouts and it is currently set to 5 minutes. When you added the comment you were probably “logged out”. The testing they are doing is making sure this “timeout” situation is handled correctly.

That’s right you clever devils - - -blame the whole thing on some poor defenseless lawyer. That’s OK, I can take it.
I think you are exactly correct.
Thanks
