New feature: Custom Filter for Linked-Email Activity

The Linked-Email activity automatically attaches email messages to their correlating Contact, Company and Project Blogs.. This means that all prior email correspondence is in one place and can be shared with other users.  To automatically attach the correct messages the system compares specific information on the page to the content of the email messages e.g. email address, name, etc.  Now you have the option to choose which fields are used and enter your own custom values.

This is particularly helpful when working with Project Blogs because sometimes the Title of the Project Blog is either too general or too specific to catch all the relevant email messages.  The new option allows you to relate a specific set of criteria to precisely link the messages relevant to the page.

Is it possible to use the Linked-Email Activity to set a task and
assign a responsible person just by including certain things in the email?

This feature is great for adding notes on a client. I’d really like to also be able to request a staff person do something.

In this case, I’m speaking the email through voice on an iPhone using Dragon’s
free Dictate iphone ap.  It’s so much easier to talk to a client, dictate yourself the notes and then, email them to your Linked-Email address including the person or blog’s name.

It would just be so much better to include a line like “new task for alex” and have the system recognize it and set a task with some default settings.

Solve does not currently generate new items from incoming email messages.  Thanks for the tip.

One of the things on my list of ‘really nice’ Outlook features is to be able to drag an email to create an appt, task, note, etc. Add my vote to this tip.
