Offline tool for Solve360

Is it possible, or are there plans, to develop an offline tool for Solve360?

Such a tool should ideally allow me:
- to backup all content and files to my harddisk (and so in my online backup also)
- to put files in a project blog folder on my harddisk, so they will upload an link to the according Project blog in Solve360
- get an ODBC interface to the Solve360 database structure, to connect to other offline applications

Sure, the backup option is the most important for me.

Are there more people waiting for such a tool?

As the account administrator can backup your database under Workspace > Contacts > Data > Export all data.  The export file maintains all the data relationships e.g. tags, activities etc. and includes a script to download all uploaded files.

We don’t have plans to offer direct access to the database.  The methods you could be looking into are included in the API documentation on our website.

How do you think about an automatic link between files on harddisk and project blog / company / contact?
So it would be easier to edit e.g. Word files linked to a project blog or company.

At this moment I have to download the file to a temporary folder, edit the file and upload it to Solve360.

For new files I also have to use a temp folder.

Is there some other method to get an easier link between editable files an Solve360?

Thanks in advance…

Another reply, regarding the backup: isn’t it possible to get a backup of the whole system from the user account settings?
At this moment I have to backup Contacts and Projectblogs in two steps. Thereby the filename for the generated zip-file is the same form Contacts and Projectblogs. It should be easier to get a Contacts.zip and a Projectblogs.zip.

Keep on working at this great product! Just ment to improve Solve360.

Have you considered complementing your tools by using Google Docs?  This way the file lives on the network and never needs to be downloaded / transferred.
