Dropbox Major Problem

For the past 24 hours I have been receiving the following message (about 1 per 30 seconds):
Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:

“Recipient address: commissionexpress@CEFA
Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address
Diagnostic code: smtp;554 5.7.1 <commissionexpress@CEFA>: Recipient address rejected: 550 Message rejected; not accepting mail for this address (H602)
Remote system: dns;dc01m01.norada.com (TCP|17.148.16.103|60261|209.205.33.195|25) (dc01m01.norada.com NO UCE ESMTP)“

This was the dropbox address I created.  I now have thousands of FAILURE-DAIMON notices.  How do I stop this and why is it occuring?

There are currently 5,285 messages in your dropbox.  The address is being temporary blocked by our incoming mail security firewall due to excessive incoming connection attempts (a denial of service pattern).

I’ve added the address to an internal safe list that will override this rule for now and allow messages to be accepted from your server again.  Our logs recently show messages being delivered to this address again so the rejection notices should stop.

PS: The frequency of the errors you are getting back is an indication of how aggressive your outgoing server is behaving.

How do I correct this issue?

We are accepting messages from this server now so as soon as your email system has processed any previously queued rejection notices it should return to normal.

Presuming you were not actually forwarding 1000s of messages in you may want to ask your email provider 1) why is their system making redelivery attempts for flat-out rejections and 2) why they are retrying at such a low retry interval.

Here’s their reply:
“Hello,
I had a close look into your issue. It looks like the email was sent to the email address . It is not getting delivered because the remote mail server is not accepting the emails for that email address. It looks like it is sent from the email address with authentication.

It looks like a problem with the remote mail server. You will have to contact them to get this resolved.“

Best Regards,
Steve

Yes it is correct.  As I mentioned, we stopped accepting email to that address at a certain point.  You next questions might be why were the messages retried (when we were telling their server that we would not accept them), and why was it retrying at such a frequent interval.  You can create a support request if you need more information.
