Calendar - All Day Feature

It appears that when you schedule an appointment for “All Day”  It puts a box on the calendar that just appears at the top of the date.  I would prefer that this fill all time slots of the calendar from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (or something like that) so that another user does not inadvertently think my calendar is free during that period and book an appointment for when I will be gone the entire day.

I know the work around for this is to uncheck the “all day” box and put in the start and end times, but this defeats the purpose of the “all day” box.

Thanks

Other calendars use the same method as Solve for ‘all day’, such as Google Calendar, so it seems to be an accepted way to do things (and possibly something to do with the iCal standard, I’m not sure), which then makes syncing with other calendar tools, iPhones etc easier and more consistent.

I think the work around is that people look at the entire calendar, or if they can’t do that then do as you suggested: book it off on the chosen hours. Technically speaking: 8am to 8pm is NOT all day. All day would be from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 and since the Subject of your event is usually shown at the Top of the time frame, you would then have to scroll your calendar screen all the way to midnight to see the subject of your All Day event.

Just my thoughts!
