Categorize new entries in Section Headers in One Step

As I understand the work flow now, you create section headers and then each time you log a call, upload a file, etc. you have to post it to the contact/project blog first and then drag it under the appropriate Section Header.  What would really be great is to be able to do that in one step.  So each time you upload a file you can check under what section it should go.  This would save time but also right now its difficult to drag items to the correct spot, especially if you have long entries or a significant number of entries.  Other project management tools have this capability and it would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Have you tried right-clicking where you want the new activity, then choosing it from the list (works for everything except files currently)?

Nice trick.  Thanks that helps.  I still think a drop down box with the list of section headers when you post would be helpful.  Thoughts?

Some background…

We sweat over the interface details i.e. anything requiring a user to decide something, or take a step, is scrutinized.

Sections are optional and are not always used to organize a page (actually they are not as common on contact pages as they are for project blogs).  Selecting a position is another spot on the screen to think about.  The client is most likely looking at the spot they want the new activity placed, returning to the top menu would be an extra step.  Once you know about it, a right-click works well.

I appreciate what you are trying to do and that makes sense.  I guess my only thought is we would really need that right click option for files as well.  At a minimum a way to move files up and down a project blog that has many and long entries would be helpful I guess although a right click for the file would be most preferable.  I really appreciate the time you all take to address our suggestions and concerns…

Yep, support for positioning files in place is on the way too.  It just took a little longer to bake that one.

Great, thanks.  Do let me know when that’s available…you guys are so low-key about your new features!

Great, thanks.  Do let me know when that’s available…you guys are so low-key about your new features!

They do a pretty good job at posting updates, and I’ve even seen them also reply directly in a post that was months old, when a new feature was launched that was suggested in a post. So you might just be lucky and get what you wish for!
