Questions about Constant Contact integration

Hi there,

I have a few questions about the Constant Contact integration.

First, there are some encoding issues when publishing the contacts to CC. If for example I have a first name André, it appears as AndrŽé in CC. Sure, I know we Dutchies should have never gone with those stupid accents and all, but still, this is a bug (although I’m not sure on whose side this is).

Secondly, does anybody have a suggestion as to how to get an unsubscribe from CC to also show up in Solve360? The SafeUnsubscribe feature CC offers is great, but it won’t help me update Solve360 to reflect a contact’s record to be unsubscribed from any newsletter…

thanks,
Alef

Hi Alef, We use UTF8 so normally the accents are all-good, but since there seems to be an issue between the systems we’ll be looking into it.  Thanks for mentioning it.

The unsubscribe is normally not an issue because even if you send the contact back to Constant Contact, the contact will not receive a message as Constant Contact has their record noted as not to be contacted.

Although not essential it would be nice to get that unsubscribe back into Solve.  If/when we consider doing so the discussion will most likely include other data as well e.g. copy of the message, some analytic points etc.

Great, thanks! Encoding always sucks :-)

Okay, that’s what I expected, but it’s good to hear that it works like that.

Sounds pretty tricky to get that going. E.g. I use a tag to indicate somebody is subscribed to a newsletter so that tag should be removed. But what if you have multiple types of newsletters with different tags, et cetera… Anyway, nice challenge ;-). But definitely not a show stopper.
