What works best?

As a new user I would like input regarding how to track interactions with clients.

When you create a contact, a business contact is automatically created when you enter the company a contact belongs to.

In this case I have a opportunity to do work for company X. Company X wants me to provide a quote for redevelopment of their company website. Two contacts are involved in this process and I want to document all interactions with the company to get the account. My question is:

Based on your experiences, where should I document the interactions with the potential and/or current clients?

1) In the company page
2) On the client page
3) Do double the work and bounce between both client pages to review all notes, call logs, etc.

Any insight to best practices would be helpful. At this point I have not used any of the company pages since my correspondence is usually with a specific client.

It would be amazing if their was a way to track all correspondence, projects, logs with clients that are a part of company X on company X’s page.

Try using a project blog, right from the start

Once the project is completed, either dead or finished you can archive it.

Then if you do more work for the same client, simply create more project blogs for those projects.

Hope that helps!

Wow… That was absolutely perfect… I never thought of using the project blog that way. I had it reserved for ‘won contracts’ only. You made it all so simple.

Thanks for the answer and fast reply.

P.S. If you archive a project, will it still show as related… in the client or company info?
