Can you add multiple people to one task?

I’ve created a task list and in the list I have several tasks that are handled by different people on our team. There are certain tasks that require two people to work together on a task… How do you add multiple people to one task? In the assigned to drop down, I can only select one team member. I have tried holding control or shift to select multiple team members, but it doesn’t work.

I also need the ability to assign task to a client. Is this possible? For instance I need a client to provide written copy for their website by a specified date and would like to make this a task. How would I do this or find a work around?

Teams may follow different work styles, but this area is designed to make one person ultimately responsible for the task, the “single throat to choke as it were”, even if there are multiple people involved in completing it.  This design considers a phenomena in psychology called “pluralistic ignorance”.  Our interpretation: if you make more than one person responsible, nobody is responsible.

Allowing an external user to be the responsible person is something we’re reviewing, very carefully.

The workaround is that the task title can be used to indicate who is doing which part etc.

Makes sense. As a workaround I have scheduled a phone/meeting… making the meeting details the request from all parties including external people. Then marking the task complete upon completion of the ‘meeting’ per say.

Is there a better way?

Wow, you’re a fast study! smile We’ve added a few “task characteristics” to events and yes, they can be used like this.  Events are unique in that they can repeat too (tasks cannot repeat).
