Hi,
I just would like to know if you are going to improve the gantt chart in the early future.

Thanks.

We are generally improving all areas of the service and do have some specific plans for the timeline report.  However, we are currently focused on other areas and there are no imminent changes scheduled for this area.

Whilst the Gantt chart available through Solve is adequate for basic projects, I think it might become limited for more complex work.  I was slightly worried about this, but really like Solve for so many other reasons.
We are using Google Docs (from within Google Apps) more and more, and happily I came across a new “gadget” addition called “Gantter Project” which is currently free and can be added to Google Apps via the Market Place.  It works very much like MS Project and saves to Google Docs as a spreadsheet.  The one limitation is that this spreadsheet makes no sense unless view with Gantter Project - this is a shame because we do a lot of links from Solve to Google Docs.  Having a link straight into the Gantter chart would be fantastic.  I wonder if Special Ops could have a play and see if some work could be done on this integration?

Hi Carl, thank you for the tip. We are actually working on lots of Google integration right now. I hadn’t heard of this add-on before but I’ll mention it to the team. I would not be surprised if Gantter made it’s projects viewable from within Google Docs soon. The technology for this is available.

It would make sense to keep S360 basic Gantt chart as a module one could replace/complement by integrating S360 with another app (Torch, Project, ...) via API.

I think I am probably in agreement, but have no real idea how the whole API thing works.  Would doing this be a straightforward job?  How much cost/time would be involved?

Gantter have now produced a Chrome extension to allow the Gantt chart to open direct from GoogleDocs.  I’ve yet to try it, but I assume this means that a hyperlink will work from Solve to Google Docs, and thence to Gantter (assuming your using Chrome).  The extensions is at https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/paacgjanenmcmbbjcefableljfjcbccf
